Our client in Willoughby, OH is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Accountant for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is onsite and offers the chance to work closely with a variety of internal teams in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling complex situations, supporting financial reporting, and driving process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general ledger activities, including preparing and posting journal entries
- Focus on account reconciliations and resolving discrepancies
- Collaborate with internal teams (sales, operations, finance) to resolve issues and support business objectives
- Manage challenging situations, such as credit limit disputes between sales and accounting
- Utilize strong analytical skills to research and resolve reporting issues, especially with new systems where information may not pull through correctly
- Assist in defining KPIs and standardizing reporting processes
- Prepare and review financial reports for accuracy and completeness
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
- Strong proficiency in Excel (vlookups, pivot tables)
- At least 4 years of experience with general ledger, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal teams
- Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills
- Experience with financial reporting and new system implementation
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Contract-to-hire
- 100% onsite in Willoughby, OH
- Standard hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday
