Role:

Support, maintain, implement, and architect the credit union's physical and virtual server infrastructures. Ensure that backups of all server and data systems run effectively and are available in the event of a major disaster and/or critical system failure.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Support, maintain, implement, and architect the credit union's physical and virtual server infrastructures. Request and perform hardware and/or software upgrades as needed, at times outside hours of normal operation, in order to maintain and improve security, performance, and proper versioning. Perform and maintain backups on all critical systems, including but not limited to: on premises and cloud based virtual server infrastructure, core data processing infrastructure, and physical server infrastructure at remote locations. Perform an annual disaster test to ensure that the systems are available. Ensure periodic backup testing to ensure integrity and viability in the event of a major system outage. Coordinate with IT, front line staff, and project team subcommittees to analyze existing system processes, identify areas of opportunity for improvement in said processes, and architect solutions, while maintaining ownership through development and implementation. Create and maintain documentation on these, and other key system data process changes, preserving and adhering to standardized change management policies and procedures set forth by Credit Union of America. Perform system administration and operation of the core data processing system in a support/coverage role, including rotational on-call nightly monitoring coverage. Work with IT Support and Development to assist with troubleshooting system problems and other issues as needed. Other duties as assigned. Employee shall be trained annually, demonstrate an understanding of, and follow the requirements of the BSA/AML Compliance Program as it specifically relates to their job functions.

Knowledge & Skills:

Experience:

Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education:

(1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field) preferred. VM Ware Certification preferred (VCP VCAP VCDX).

Interpersonal Skills:

Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.

Other Skills: 1. Strong understanding of VMware products, virtualization concepts, public cloud computing. 2. Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems. Experience with, and understanding of, general hardware, software, and Local Area Network is required. 3. Working knowledge of Routers, Switches, and various other network equipment; Specifically relating to their interaction with and effect on server environments and virtualized/physical infrastructure. Ability to troubleshoot various network issues and be able to respond accordingly.

Office position; works indoors year-round; may be exposed to indoor temperature adjustments; heating and cooling vents distribute regulated air.
