Job Summary

This position exists to coordinate and direct all MCF-Shakopee activitiesrelated to management of State-owned property in accordance with policies and proceduresestablished by the statewide inventory management program. This responsibility includes controlover fixed assets, consumable inventories, and surplus property. This position is also responsible toensure that services are provided, and activities performed with a major emphasis on security and arein compliance with state laws and regulation. This position will also provide assistance to the Institution Services Department so that provided services continue without interruption, such as assisting with mailroom duties as needed including back up assistance in the absence of mailroom staff. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. Ensure that your resume contains descriptions of your work experiences sufficient for comparison against the requirements stated below and indicate the beginning and ending month and year for each job held.

Business English skills sufficient to compose and edit correspondence and reports using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. English speaking skills sufficient to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and staff. Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous, and accurate information about warehouse operations and procedures to customers, vendors, offenders, and staff over the phone and in person. Math skills sufficient to maintain inventory, conduct purchasing requests and record keeping. Typing/keyboarding and word processing skills sufficient to draft and type letters, memos, and reports. Data entry skills sufficient to enter and update accurate inventory records into database systems, such as Statewide Integrated Financial Tools (SWIFT), Correctional Operations Management System (COMS) and ITAG. Database management skills sufficient to maintain, update, and retrieve information from database systems, such as SWIFT, COMS, Microsoft Word, and Excel. Lead work skills sufficient to train, assign work, schedule and monitor activities Preferred Qualifications

The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

Experience in conducting physical inventories and knowledge of inventory management. Experience in shipping and receiving, including quality control. Experience operating an electric/manual pallet jack, pallet stacker, and forklift. Experience working in a correctional facility warehouse setting. Experience managing a budget Physical Requirements

Additional Requirements

The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.

Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.

New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
