Description Leidos is seeking a high-energy communications professional to support the

Digital Modernization Sector

with a mix of external and internal communications responsibilities. Reporting to the

Sector Communications Director , this role will work in close partnership with the sector's communication team to develop and deliver communications that inform, engage, and inspire employees while also supporting external marketing activations.

This is a

hands-on, generalist role

well-suited for a communicator in their second or third job who is eager to grow their expertise across multiple disciplines. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, collaborative teammate, and detail-oriented project manager capable of balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities

External Communications and Marketing

Execute campaigns and initiatives that align with sector priorities.

Draft and edit content for various audiences that supports go-to-market strategies.

Assist in the development of external marketing deliverables, including collateral, web copy, social posts, and event materials.

Provide communications and logistical support for sector participation in industry trade shows and marketing activations.

Internal Communications & Employee Engagement

Create content for internal channels, including announcements, intranet articles, newsletters, and employee engagement campaigns.

Support communications planning and execution for town halls, leadership forums, and employee events.

Partner with the Sector Communications Director to deliver initiatives that strengthen culture, collaboration, and employee engagement.

Manage a calendar of Internal Communications activities and events; publish on a quarterly basis.

Manage Intranet pages for the Sector, including posting content and managing response to employee queries.

Track and analyze communications effectiveness and provide recommendations for improvement.

Collaboration & Alignment

Coordinate closely with the Sector Communications team and key sector stakeholders, such as HR, Technology, and Partnerships.

Work with cross-functional teams and corporate partners to ensure alignment with Leidos' brand, messaging, and enterprise priorities.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field. Additional years of experience in lieu of degree will be considered.

2+ years of professional communications experience (internal, corporate, or marketing).

Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail and tone.

Experience creating content for digital platforms (e.g., intranet, newsletters, social, presentations, email).

Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) and familiarity with collaboration platforms (Teams, SharePoint).

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, or change management programs.

Exposure to marketing campaign execution, trade show communications, or external activations.

Familiarity with AP style and corporate communications best practices.

Experience working with or for government contractors, defense, or federal technology organizations.

Familiarity with design tools, multimedia, or content management systems.

Pay Range:

$50,700.00 - $91,650.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
