Technology Systems Designer

with systems design experience with a focus on one or more of the following trades: Audio Visual. This role will support the engineering of systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers in creating designs for all kinds of spaces including Critical Facilities, Corporate Interiors, Sports & Entertainment, Healthcare Facilities, Airports, and educational facilities throughout the country. Base pay

Base pay range $75,083.00/yr - $112,625.00/yr New York Pay Range $75,083—$112,625 USD Responsibilities

As a technology systems designer, you will support the design efforts on a wide range of projects. You will work closely with senior and supervising consultants performing calculations and laying out highly technical spaces. You will progress from basic design work assignments to more complicated projects working in conjunction with a technical team. Provide trade-specific system design layout (utilizing CAD/BIM); calculations (utilizing appropriate software); and other related design services including coordination with the designs of other trades (architectural and engineering / internal and external) under the guidance of more senior technical staff. Conduct field inspections to determine existing conditions and coordinate new work; assist senior team members in preparation of due diligence, feasibility, gap analysis and other technical reports and drawings. Coordinate with other disciplines and work in close contact with the entire design team. Create basic designs under the direction of the senior team, perform CAD/BIM drafting, equipment selections, systems calculations for a variety of projects and project sizes to begin to understand architectural engineering design and documentation. Cross-trained in multidisciplinary designs and support design production of drawings, calculations, research, reports, analysis, and specification. Basic understanding of network connectivity, LAN/WAN fundamentals and other ICT trades fundamentals; basic understanding of Wi-Fi infrastructure, WAPs, controllers. Learns and adheres to drawing organization and company standards. Support design and engineering efforts of systems for new installations, retrofits, replacements, and upgrades for a wide variety of projects. Take ownership of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of work assignments. Assist senior team in determining project scheduling requirements, resource requirements and project budgets. Assist senior team in processing RFIs, Change Orders, Bulletins, and Addenda. Begin to establish system application, design, and operational parameters / sequences under the direction of the senior team. Create basic designs with limited supervision and develop medium to complex designs under the direction of senior staff. Develop specifications, system narratives and layouts for a variety of projects and project sizes. Participate in QA/QC processes for own work and for the work of others. Perform construction administration and field investigation tasks, including field inspections and detailed inspection reports. Represent Syska Hennessy Group and interact with internal design teams as well as external clients and consultants (owners, builders, developers, program managers, architects, vendors, etc.). Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Science, Mathematics or Technology. 3.5+ to 7 years of relevant experience focusing on Audio Visual. Experience with MS Office 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) and Adobe Bluebeam; other business software desirable. Demonstrates ability to use CAD/Revit for system layout and spatial coordination of detailed drawings. Basic understanding of the practical application of LEED principles to building designs. Ability to pass the PE exam or relevant ICT certifications. Basic understanding of proper system selection. Benefits
