Visiting Professor of Corporate Finance in San Jose

DeVry University invites industry professionals to teach and share knowledge with undergraduate and graduate students. Courses meet once or twice a week for eight weeks, with face-to-face instruction blended with online discussions and assignments. Faculty are responsible for teaching courses and programs in accordance with DeVry University requirements, developing syllabi and lesson plans, and participating in comprehensive faculty training and ongoing development. The University does not guarantee a specific number of work hours or assignments, which may vary based on the University’s needs and discretion. Responsibilities

Develops and provides students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a campus template and includes terminal course objectives. Organizes, prepares, and regularly revises and updates all course materials. Uses appropriate online technologies and course-related software, including websites, e-mail, and online discussions to prepare and make the course accessible to students. Models effective oral and written communications that engage students and improve learning. Sets clear course expectations by publishing terminal objectives, assignment and examination dates, and the weighting of evaluation categories. Ensures content and level of material on exams align with course objectives. Maintains consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading and provides timely feedback to students. Completes other duties as assigned. Qualifications

A doctorate in Finance or a doctoral degree in a related field with 15 graduate credit hours in Finance is required. Please upload a copy of your unofficial transcripts (graduate level and above) with your application. Credentials must be awarded by an institution accredited by a recognized agency. Minimum of seven years experience as an upper-level financial manager. Prospective instructors should be employed as a corporate treasurer, controller, investment banker, securities analyst, or as a VP of commercial lending. CPA, CFA or CFM 5+ years finance and/or securities experience. Additional requirements driven by state licensing or accreditation considerations may apply. Faculty must have subject matter expertise and outstanding communication skills, with the ability to work in a diverse environment. Must be able to work in a collaborative manner and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups. Compensation and Benefits

Pay for Visiting Professors is based on level, credit hours taught per 8-week session, and location. In addition, DeVry University does not guarantee any specific number of work hours or assignments, which may vary based on the University’s needs and discretion. Pay may vary in most states from $1500-$2700 per 8-week session. Pay in AZ, CA, IN and PA is paid at an hourly rate of $22.00/hour or $23.50/hour. DeVry University offers benefit options for Visiting Professors, including a 401(k) and Roth Plan, Paid Tuition Program, Remote and Flex Work Options, Paid Sick Time, and Technology Stipend. Benefits vary based on employment status; Part-time/Visiting Professors may not be eligible for all benefits.
