We are seeking a detail-oriented
Senior Operations Accountant
to join our team. In this role, you’ll oversee payroll operations, strengthen internal controls, and ensure accuracy across complex reconciliations and financial reporting. You’ll collaborate closely with Finance, HR, and leadership teams, while also mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements. What You’ll Do Lead payroll operations to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant compensation. Manage payroll tax filings, reconciliations, and audits across multiple states and jurisdictions. Review and approve payroll-related journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger postings. Oversee year-end reporting, including W-2s and 1099s. Enhance payroll systems and processes in partnership with Finance, HR, and IT. Analyze payroll and labor data to support budgeting and forecasting. Perform and oversee reconciliations (bank, intercompany, AP/AR, balance sheet). Implement and monitor internal controls and financial policies. Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax agencies, and payroll providers. Lead finance-related projects such as system upgrades and process redesigns. Coach and develop accounting/payroll staff. Track and maintain vendor and contractor Certificates of Insurance (COIs). What We’re Looking For Strong background in operational accounting and payroll management. Experience with complex reconciliations and financial reporting. Knowledge of GAAP and payroll tax regulations. Proficiency with payroll systems and ERP software. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills. Leadership experience with a focus on mentoring and team development. Seniority Level:
