Chief Financial Officer - Skywood Recovery - Augusta, MI. Skywood Recovery is a premier, full-service addiction treatment center in Augusta, Michigan. We provide the full continuum of care from detox, residential, to partial hospitalization programs. Our specialization in dual diagnosis treatment allows us to address underlying mental health concerns. At Skywood, we pride ourselves on providing individualized treatment for each of our patients based on their unique needs. Responsibilities
Monitors and controls accounts receivables. Oversees Business Office functions to ensure cash collection goals are met, and net revenue is properly stated. Facilitates weekly A/R meetings with CEO and Business Office Manager to communicate results and monitor areas of weakness. Monitors and affects relationships between Business Office, Intake and Utilization Review departments to maximize patient revenue. Improves the profitability of the hospital by continually monitoring costs (especially staffing relative to patient volume) and payor mix and length of stay to maximize reimbursement. Assists in negotiating contract terms with third party payers. Prepares pro-forma analyses of new programs/contracts to determine estimated outcomes. Monitors and evaluates the success/failure of implemented programs including physician arrangements. Develops and monitors policies and procedures within generally accepted accounting principles and corporate guidelines to ensure sufficient cash flow, reduced operating costs, and increased revenues. Prepares monthly financial statements, financial packages, and other informational reports/analyses. Through account analysis, variance analysis, journal entries, and internal controls, prepares detailed financial statements to reflect monthly operating results. Provides required reporting, including reconciliations and analyses for Reimbursement, Tax, and audit purposes to aid in report preparation. Prepares annual budget in conjunction with UHS standards. Works with management and department heads to review prior financial results and discuss anticipated changes to highlight future needs and trends of the facility. Performs other duties as assigned/required. Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role in a healthcare setting. Healthcare/Hospital Controller or CFO/Chief Financial Officer strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred. Working knowledge of hospital financial operations, federal and local tax regulations; understanding of all business office, accounting, payroll and other administrative operations from registration through discharge. Ability to interpret financial analysis and performance information; prepare schedules and reports from source data; manipulate data in electronic spreadsheets and proprietary databases.
