This position is located in Poway, CA and supports the MQ-9B COCO Project Engineering team, providing systems engineering on GA-ASI UAS. Base pay range: $105,890.00/yr - $189,545.00/yr With limited direction, this position exercises considerable latitude for initiating and developing designs, procedures, techniques, and solutions to resolving advanced technical engineering problems. Assignments are normally outlined in terms of broad specifications, objectives, possible results anticipated, and critical reference points requiring special attention. This role offers eligibility for the Individual Compensation Program (ICP) bonus and may support a hybrid work environment (up to 1 day/week remote work from home) pending project needs. Develops innovative but practical solutions to advanced technical problems in engineering. Provides focal point for technical communication within company management and may represent the company as the prime technical contact to customers and/or government regulatory agencies. Presents reports at engineering meetings, participates in program reviews, and consults on problems. Provides expert guidance and consulting to other staff members working on difficult engineering problems. Anticipates future engineering needs and the modifications required to accomplish technical goals. Addresses complex and difficult technical issues requiring novel and highly creative approaches drawing on advanced engineering concepts. May assume technical and engineering responsibility for the success of an identifiable project. Directs activities of design or technical staff and may lead a team of moderately experienced professional staff. Maintains the strict confidentiality of sensitive information. Performs other duties as assigned and observes all applicable laws and regulations. Works with domestic and foreign customers to develop and execute COCO requirements; travel to foreign and domestic destinations may be required to support COCO sites. Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree, master’s degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution, with progressive experience: nine+ years with a bachelor’s degree, seven+ years with a master’s degree, or four+ years with a PhD. Substitutions of equivalent engineering experience are possible. Extensive technical expertise in engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice; ability to organize, plan, schedule, and coordinate workloads to meet deadlines; some experience in project leadership. Ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in an evolving environment. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective interfaces with other departments and professionals. Capable of representing the organization as a prime technical contact and providing leadership to less experienced professionals. Customer-focused with the ability to develop plans based on innovative designs to resolve complex engineering problems. Ability to work independently and in a team environment; may require extended hours. DoD security clearance eligibility is required; possession of a Professional Engineering License, publications, or invited presentations are desirable.
