The Staff Accountant works under the general direction of the Finance Manager to provide accounting services, including preparation of timely and accurate account reconciliations, journal entries, revenue and expense allocations, leading the month-end close, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements for internal and external users. What You’ll Be Doing
Oversee Electronic Attendance audit Prepare and submit EPAR to the State Maintain inventory subledger to match with GL Review and approve A/R, A/R aging, Cash Receipts, Salesforce journal entries Review and approve Parent Fee deposits and journal entries Follow Provider contracts, invoice templates, etc. Review and approve provider payments from AR staff Handle parent fees write-offs and collections agency transmittals Review and approve AR aging report reconciliation Prepare prepaid expense reconciliation Record Fixed Asset depreciation and prepare FA schedule Assist in preparing State Quarterly Reports Bank reconciliations Assist in preparation of PRGL journal entries Assist in preparing monthly agency financial statements Analyze program budget versus actual variances Assist in preparing 571L, Welfare Exemptions, and other county requirements Hire, train, supervise and evaluate accounting staff Perform other duties as assigned by Finance/Accounting Manager or Director of Finance Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance plus three or more years of related experience or equivalent Excellent Excel skills Experience with Sage Intacct, Paysimple, Positive Pay, and CenterTrack is a plus Previous experience in public accounting and nonprofit environment is a plus Self-motivated, able to plan daily workload, analytical thinker and team player Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Willingness and ability to learn and lead accounting functions Able to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities; detail-oriented with problem-solving skills Ability to manage high volume of transactions in a fast-paced environment Willing and able to work extended hours if necessary Integrity, discretion, and sound judgment; capable of independent work and leadership Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends Supervisory experience required Compensation
$97,188 USD per year Additional Requirements
