Overview
Senior Salesforce Developer position with the Department of Economic Security (DES). Location: Division of Technology Services, 1400 West Washington Street, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Salary: $85,000 - $101,000. Grade: 27. Closing Date: October 19, 2025. DES is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Senior/Lead Applications Developer. This position is responsible for design, developing and maintaining complex, scalable solutions on the Salesforce service cloud platform by translating business requirements into technical implementations using Apex, Lightning components, and other Salesforce app exchange tools, while mentoring junior developers and leading technical aspects of projects often collaborating closely with business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of custom applications. This position may offer the ability to work remotely within Arizona, based on the department's business needs and performance. Responsibilities
Writing complex Apex classes, triggers and scheduled jobs to automate business processes and create custom functionality within Salesforce. Building user-friendly Lightning web components for the Salesforce interface, including custom interactions and data visualization. Designing efficient Salesforce data structures, including custom objects, fields and relationships to optimize data storage and retrieval. Identifying and resolving issues within Salesforce applications including debugging Apex code and troubleshooting integration problems. Utilizing Salesforce configuration options like workflows, validation rules, and sharing rules to implement business logic with minimal code where possible. Reviewing code written by others to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices and security protocols. Defining the overall technical architecture for Salesforce applications, considering scalability, performance and security. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs)
Web technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript and REST APIs. Software development processes including analysis, design, coding, testing, problem resolution and planning. Salesforce Service Cloud, OmniStudio, agile and test-driven development; integrating Salesforce with other systems. Multiple programming languages, databases and development platforms; experience in Azure DevOps and agile methodology. Lightning components and framework. Skills
Apex programming language. Salesforce configuration including workflows, approval processes and custom fields. Problem solving and analytics. Custom UI development, including Visualforce, Lightning, Azure and Lightning Web Components. Complex Salesforce customization, integrations and configurations. Experience Cloud websites and Salesforce PSS, Omnistudio modules. Ability To
Work independently; balance, prioritize and organize multiple tasks. Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders and team members. Lead, mentor and guide junior developers. Synthesize feedback and adjust plans; develop technical documentation; execute testing and interpret results. Use testing frameworks and manage test environments. Selective Preferences

Bachelor’s degree plus 8+ years of programming/analysis experience (or equivalent). Valid Level One fingerprint clearance card per DES requirements.
