Overview
Academic Program Director - Social Sciences at USC Dornsife College of Letters, Arts and Sciences, Los Angeles, California. Based in the Academic Services Hub, the director leads academic program management and student support within the hub and collaborates with senior administration to support the division’s departments. Responsibilities
Lead the academic program management and student support groups in the hub. Indirect supervision of the administrative/clerical group of the hub. Collaborate with the Senior Office Manager and Administrative Director to ensure the hub effectively leads and manages operations, activities, and the unique identity of each department in the division. Direct short-term and long-term strategic planning, including standardizing processes and procedures. Engage in feedback loops with department chairs as informative channels of change. Ensure compliance and adherence to university policies and procedures. Foster strong relationships with relevant stakeholders. Work with the Dean’s office on resolving critical issues and promoting collaboration among academic disciplines through the hub structure. Qualifications
Preferred qualifications: Experience in higher education, specifically working with academic departments. Ability to take an innovative approach to changing landscapes and conflict resolution. Ability to communicate consistently and effectively with multiple stakeholders. Ability to critically analyze situations/challenges to inform decision making. Minimum Education:
Master’s degree Minimum Experience:
7 years Minimum Skills:
Experience developing programs, partnerships, and funding sources; proven management/leadership experience; building and maintaining relationships with domestic and international stakeholders; ability to resolve inquiries and complaints and present information to varied audiences while maintaining confidentiality; strong analytical skills; outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills with attention to detail; experience in higher education and/or customer service; ability to plan, implement, coordinate, and organize program logistics; demonstrated database/data entry experience; proven project management and problem-solving skills with ability to handle multiple timelines and changing priorities. Salary range:
The annual base salary range for this position is $132,164 – $166,138. USC considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience/education, skills, internal alignment, applicable laws, grant funding, and market conditions when extending offers. Work Arrangement:
