Warren County is seeking highly motivated and skilled candidates to fill the position of
Deputy Treasurer I . This is a full-time position that performs skilled clerical and technical work assisting with the operations of the Treasurer’s Office. Responsibilities include: Receiving payments and recording receipts. Reconciling accounts and assisting the public. Processing payments for personal property and real estate taxes. Handling County decals, waste decals, business license dog tags, and estimated state income taxes. Answering calls from citizens and providing information. Counting and verifying cash and checks, and balancing the cash drawer. Assisting in mailing real estate, personal property, and sanitary district bills. Updating personal property and real estate addresses. Assisting with debt set off programs and entering bankruptcy information. A successful candidate will have: General knowledge of accounting principles, methods, and practices. Some knowledge of business and office practices. Ability to analyze and interpret fiscal and accounting data. Ability to prepare appropriate statements and reports. Ability to operate standard office and data entry equipment. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public. Minimum requirements include any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school, with some experience in customer service preferred. The starting salary for the Deputy Treasurer I is $34,528.00, depending on qualifications and experience, with an excellent benefits package.
