Medical Technologist (MT/CLS) Opportunity

Matrix Providers is hiring a Medical Technologist (MT/CLS) to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services in Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System West Campus at Montgomery, AL. Employment Status: Full-Time Schedule: Regular: 07:30 AM 4:00 PM, Monday Friday with rotating weekends. Second shift: 03:30 PM 12:00 AM, including rotating weekends. Third shift: 12:00 AM 8:30 AM, including weekends. 7 on / 7 off shift work is desired. Other shifts as needed by the service. Benefits: Competitive financial package, comprehensive insurance (health, dental, vision, life), accrued Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Holidays (outlined in the Handbook), 401(k) Plan Job Description: Perform generalist clinical lab testing: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Immunology, Urinalysis; Microbiology preferred Operate and maintain laboratory instruments; troubleshoot issues Ensure accurate and timely reporting of lab results; notify providers of critical values Participate in quality control, calibration, and proficiency testing Document all processes per VA and regulatory requirements Collaborate with team members to ensure continuous lab coverage Skills/Experience: Generalist skills across key lab areas: Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Blood Bank, Immunology, and Urinalysis; Microbiology preferred Proficiency in instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting Strong quality control and regulatory compliance capabilities, including proficiency testing, calibration, and documentation per Joint Commission, CAP, and AABB standards Experience notifying providers of critical values and ensuring accurate result reporting Ability to prioritize workload efficiently, including during rotating weekends and multiple shifts Minimum of 1 year of experience as a generalist Medical Technologist Board certification (MT, MLS, or CLS) by ASCP or AMT required Bachelors degree in a relevant science field and completion of a clinical practice program
