Pharmacy Inpt Operations Job Summary: Vanderbilt Health - Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for an Executive Director, Clinic & Infusion Pharmacy Services, reporting to the Chief Pharmacy Officer. The Executive Director is a member of the pharmacy executive team with oversight of clinical, business, and operational areas, the ambulatory enterprise for pharmacy support, as well as the consolidated infusion business line. The Clinic and Infusion pharmacy service has a significant contribution of margin to the organization based on FY25 financials and FY26 projections. Inventory management for the clinics is the second highest across the organization, accounting for 24% of the total drug expense for the organization. This position covers 10 licensed pharmacy sites, more than other parts of the pharmacy enterprise, and maintains a significant scope of responsibility in terms of the regulatory, quality, and safety aspects of medication use. Since 2016, the number of clinics supported has grown from 135 to 310, further emphasizing the clinic growth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, business strategy, professional development of teams, innovative care delivery, program growth and expansion, & achievement of financial and budgetary goals. The AOD/AOR Infusion business line had over $200M of margin in FY25 thanks to significant teamwork from the clinics, providers, and pharmacy staff. The centralized infusion referral center was initiated by this position, and growth in FY26 is projected in the financial long-range planning. The 92 FTEs in this team currently support 310 clinic locations across the VUMC enterprise and oversight of $336M of drug expense. Clinically, these clinics provide a range of services, including oncology and non-oncology infusion, ambulatory surgery, GI/IBD, rheumatology, primary care, women's, walk-in, transplant, ophthalmology, surgery, dermatology, neurology, and many other specialties/subspecialties. The scope of these locations extends throughout Tennessee, north Alabama, and southern Kentucky. This position provides oversight for 10 infusion/ambulatory/ASC physical pharmacy sites, the most in the enterprise. This oversight consists of staffing, education, inventory management, shortage management, logistics, regulatory compliance, quality and safety, sterile and nonsterile compounding, recruitment, clinic operations, formulary, education, and research. This position also supports enterprise vaccine assessment, education, and distribution for the enterprise. VUMC Outpatient Pharmacies\' knowledgeable staff work closely with patients and health care providers to give the peace of mind patients want in their health care. VUMC has four convenient locations that offer a variety of prescription services: Retail Pharmacy services, Meds-to-Beds discharge delivery, free home delivery, complex care coordination, prescription management made simple with the VanderbiltRx mobile app, and much more. Provides leadership and maintains relationships across all levels of the organization to help optimize all aspects of the medication use process. Participates in the development of strategic goals and objectives in alignment with institutional goals and strategies. Establishes and maintains programs to comply with legal and regulatory standards. Establishes and evaluates standards of performance to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations. Continually focused on effective and efficient clinical/business operations (including but not limited to: clinical services, staff development, compliance, audit/risk management, revenue cycle, procurement/inventory control, data analytics, financial planning/reporting). Tennessee Pharmacist License Pharm.D MBA, preferred. A minimum of 10 years of Pharmacy experience, oversight, compliance, and regulatory management with increasing scope of responsibility, in an academic healthcare setting.
