Overview

Job title: Faculty, Student Development Institution: Austin Community College (ACC) – a public two-year institution serving a multicultural population of approximately 41,000 credit students each Fall and Spring semester. Prepare and teach courses in the field of Student Development to a multicultural student population using a variety of instructional strategies aligned with departmental outcomes and discipline standards. Participate in departmental responsibilities and governance, including curriculum review and revision, program review, assessment of student learning outcomes, and other departmental activities. Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback aligned with program learning outcomes and department expectations. Provide teaching and mentoring that respects diversity and does not discriminate on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories. Remain current in the field through professional development activities. Support division and department goals through active engagement in decision-making and planning. Serve on collegewide and departmental committees, councils, work groups, and task forces. Perform related duties as assigned by the department chair, dean, or senior administrators. Technology and Professional Standards

Demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, online resources, and classroom technologies. Use an online learning management system (e.g., Blackboard) to develop course content and manage administrative tasks (office hours, syllabi, etc.). Use appropriate technologies and maintain timely deadlines for attendance certification and final grades. Maintain regular office hours to assist students and support retention and success. Attend and participate in college-wide, campus, and department activities and meetings; demonstrate civility and collegiality in all interactions. Comply with published college policies and professional standards for teaching in a community college. Required Education

In accordance with SACSCOC requirements: Master's degree in Educational Psychology, Psychology, or Education; or Master's degree in Adult and Developmental Education, Counseling and Psychology, College Student Development, or Educational Counseling with three graduate hours in learning strategies or related areas; or Master's degree with 18 graduate hours in educational psychology, psychology, or education including three graduate hours in learning strategies or related areas. Qualities of a Successful Candidate

Ethics, integrity, and sound professional judgment. Commitment to positive working relationships with students, colleagues, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Dynamic instructional delivery for learners with varying levels of proficiency and backgrounds. Up-to-date knowledge of the discipline and subject matter. Experience using technology as an instructional aid to enhance learning. Experience with active and applied teaching and learning methodologies. Commitment to teaching in a community college, including understanding of multicultural classrooms and cultural sensitivity. Commitment to a culture of care and to the mission of ACC and Servant-Leadership. Strong communication skills, including written and verbal, and the ability to work with varied populations. Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain an established schedule, including evenings and weekends, and multiple campus locations if required. Work is routinely performed in a classroom or laboratory setting. Regular standing, walking, sitting, and reaching for extended periods. Follow safety rules and report unsafe conditions; take prudent actions to prevent unsafe practices. Salary Range and Openings

Salary range: $70,870 – $96,197 (based on a 10.5-month contract to start Fall 2026).
