Microsoft AI (MAI) is seeking experienced Product Engineers to help build the Copilot web experiences which are available on copilot.microsoft.com, Edge Browser and Windows OS. You'll work in a deeply iterative, collaborative, fast-paced environment to bring our technology to millions of users around the world, and ensure it's delivered with safety and reliability in mind. We value engineers who are self-starters, care deeply about the end user experience, and take pride in building products to solve customer needs.

Starting January 26, 2026, MAI employees are expected to work from a designated Microsoft office at least four days a week if they live within 50 miles (U.S.) or 25 miles (non-U.S., country-specific) of that location. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.
Responsibilities
Ship delightful, AI powered experiences that will shape how millions of people will interact with AI in the future
Collaborate with AI researchers, product managers, and designers to bring a world-class AI companion to the world
Design and build efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications
Plan and deploy front end infrastructure necessary to build, test, and deploy our products
Join a small team of world class product engineers with deep frontend expertise who are obsessed with building beautiful and performant products

Qualifications Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years software engineering experience building web products at scale by coding in languages including, but not limited to, Typescript and React
OR equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND 10+ years software engineering experience building web products at scale by coding in languages including, but not limited to, Typescript and React
OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 8+ years software engineering experience building web products at scale by coding in languages including, but not limited to, Typescript and React
OR equivalent experience
Have 0 to 1 experience with a bias towards shipping and learning, while balancing a high-quality bar
Take a user-centric approach to product development, prioritizing solutions that result in the best user experience and have the technical expertise to pull it off
Thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are comfortable making progress in ambiguity
Enjoy working closely with cross-functional partners and teammates in an inclusive, curious culture
Compensation Software Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $158,400 - $258,000 per year.
Software Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
