Faculty position focused on research in health informatics and data science, applying NLP, machine learning, and deep learning to healthcare data. Non-teaching, research-focused role aimed at improving healthcare outcomes through informatics.
Responsibilities
Research: Develop and apply natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning techniques to healthcare data, including electronic health records, social media, and biomedical literature.
Research Support: Support the operation of FSU Health Research Connection and the Health Informatics services of FSU Clinical and Translational Science Award.
Collaboration: Work with researchers and faculty across Florida State University and other institutions to design and conduct studies to improve healthcare outcomes through informatics.
Publication: Publish research results in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings.
Communication: Present research findings to the broader scientific community.
Grant Preparation: Assist in the preparation of grant proposals and other funding applications.
Mentorship: Mentor undergraduate and graduate students in the eHealth Lab.
Qualifications
Academic doctorate or terminal degree in an appropriate field with a demonstrated research record.
Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D. in computer science, information science, informatics, biomedical informatics, or a related field.
Strong knowledge and experience in natural language processing, machine learning, and deep learning.
At least 2 first-author papers in recognized data science and informatics journals or conference proceedings.
