Geotechnical Field Technicians

for our office in

Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities Responsibilities include construction observation and testing of soil, concrete, and other materials. This is an outstanding opportunity for recent graduates passionate about civil engineering, construction observation, materials testing, and geology, aiming to kickstart their career with a reputable, steadily growing organization! Candidates must possess their own vehicle, maintain a favorable driving record, enjoy collaborating with others, and thrive in outdoor work environments. GTA will furnish Personal Protective Equipment, which includes a High Visibility Vest, Hard Hat, Gloves, and Safety Glasses. Ample opportunities for training, certifications and career advancement.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or College Degree

B.S. in Civil Engineering, Geology, or similar degree preferred but not required

Certificates such as NICET, ACI, WACEL or Structural certifications a plus

Own a Reliable Vehicle and have a Good Driving Record

Enjoy working outdoors

Ability to work alone as well as in a group

Physical Requirements This position may require standing for extended durations as well as repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must have the ability to use their hands to handle, finger or feel; reach, climb or balance; crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit, see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus. The employee will regularly lift and/or move 60 pounds; and occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).

Salary range for entry level to senior technicians with certifications is between $18 - $26 per hour.
