Job Summary
We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team! As a Substance Abuse Counselor on the team, you will be handling a manageable caseload of patients looking to you for treatment and help to overcome a wide variety of addiction issues. Your role will be to support and uplift your clients, offering resources and support for them, creating and implementing treatment options, and identifying core issues that could be contributing to their abuse. The ideal candidate is compassionate, has excellent communication skills, and has experience working with people struggling with addiction and abuse. Responsibilities
Handle a manageable caseload of patients Identify core underlying issues that may be contributing to a history of substance abuse Create and implement treatment plans that fit each client Uplift and support clients, working with them and their families to help create realistic, lasting change Facilitate referrals to other healthcare or counseling professionals Educate families and groups on substance abuse treatments and prevention programs Prepare progress reports and letters for relevant parties Qualifications
Licensure with the state desired Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong compassionate outlook, with an upbeat and positive personality Experience working with substance abuse desired Previous experience in counseling, social work, or other related fields preferred Experience in conflict resolution Compassionate and caring demeanor Ability to build rapport with clients Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must Have Active: ADT Must Have Active: CSC-AD Must Have Active: CAC-AD Must Have Active: CPRS Benefits
