The role involves collaborating with customers to define platforms, driving development of computing, networking, and security technologies, and working with product development teams on implementation, internal R&D, and customer proposals. This hybrid position requires a presence in the office 3 days per week. An extensive corporate relocation package is available for eligible candidates. Essential Responsibilities
Lead in a technical development capacity. Explore and implement processing architectures, focusing on interfaces, operating systems, multi-core determinism, and embedded processors for enhanced performance. Explore and implement network end systems and switches, utilizing TSN, UDP, TCP/IP, ARINC 664, IEEE 802.3/802.1 Ethernet, and related protocols. Use model-based systems design and simulation to evaluate architectures and streamline validation and verification, aiming to reduce costs. Collaborate with civil and military aerospace sectors to produce certified architectures. Craft and evolve certifiable configuration tools for platform configuration, integration with model-based development tools, and security protocols. Engage with customers to articulate architecture principles and concepts. Communicate design and architecture concepts to systems, hardware, and software engineers for simulation, implementation, and verification/validation. Contribute to product and technical roadmaps. Conduct engineering trade studies and develop technical proposals to demonstrate GE product value. Initiate, lead, and participate in Internal Research and Development (IRAD) programs. Promote development of intellectual property. Nurture technical relationships with customers and lead participation in technical committees and symposiums. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, aeronautics, or related technical or scientific field from an accredited university. At least 10 years of experience in Embedded Computing, Networking, Software, or Systems Engineering, or related field. Travel up to 25%. Eligibility Requirements
Must be able to work in Grand Rapids, MI. This role is restricted to U.S. persons due to access to export-controlled technology; GE will require proof of status prior to employment. No sponsorship for employment for this position will be provided. Desired Qualifications
Extensive experience in product development and systems engineering. Proficiency in the design of embedded computing and/or networking platforms. Demonstrated ability in software or hardware design. Ability to define product solutions meeting customer needs and enhancing user experience. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High business acumen with ability to influence outcomes in industry meetings. Motivated, clear thinker capable of linking technical decisions to business outcomes at systems and product levels. Compensation & Benefits
The base pay range for this position is $121,500.00 - $162,100.00. This role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on base salary. This posting is expected to close on 10/31/25.
