We have a fabulous opportunity for a fulltime Real Estate Attorney / General Counsel located in downtown Cincinnati. We are a third-generation, family-owned business and one of the largest parking owners/operators in the United States.
The ideal candidate is experienced in all facets of commercial real estate, specifically acquisitions, dispositions, development, financing, construction, contracts and leasing. Further expectations include the ability to provide strategic legal advice, while anticipating and identifying risks in all other property related matters, including zoning, land use, compliance and disputes.

Duties and Responsibilities
Draft, review and negotiate contracts, leases, deeds, easements and other related real estate documents.
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as it relates to real estate and property management law.
Represent the company in acquisition, disposition, financing, and development transactions.
Define the scope of work, negotiate fees, and manage legal budgets to ensure cost-effective, high-quality outside legal services as needed.
Collaborate with executive team to structure and close real estate deals efficiently and negotiate with other parties, working to secure favorable terms for transactions.
Draft, review and negotiate purchase agreements, financing documents, and commercial property leases and prepare the required legal documents to finalize property sales.
Manage due diligence for real estate transactions to include thoroughly researching title and surveying, identifying liens, easements, and other encumbrances, and verifying the legal description of the property.
Provide the partners with strategy as it relates to liability claims, prosecuting or defending lawsuits, and ongoing legal rights and obligations as it relates to real estate and related transactions.
Work closely with and support the executive team as needed.
Maintain organized records of all legal documents and correspondence.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Juris Doctor from an ABA accredited law school
Admission to the Ohio Bar
Active law license to practice in Ohio and multi-state license is a plus.
Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in real estate law related industry.
Proven track record of providing strategic legal advice to senior management and overseeing complex legal transactions including property management, site development, leasing, acquisitions, and dispositions.
Demonstrated expertise in real estate finance, investment analysis, and market trends.
Demonstrated experience in handling regulatory compliance, risk management, and corporate governance issues within a real estate context.
Required Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex legal documents and regulations.
Excellent negotiation skills, with a proven ability to influence and achieve favorable outcomes in high-stakes situations.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively convey legal concepts to nonlegal stakeholders.
High level of integrity and professional ethics, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and exercising sound judgment.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide leadership in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
Strong research skills utilizing legal databases and resources
Remain current with changes in laws and regulations affecting the real estate and property management industry and proactively advise on potential impacts.
Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
