Overview
Academic Coordinator of Student-Athlete Academic Services at Coastal Carolina University. This is a full-time, 12-month position in the Student-Athlete Academic Services unit supporting advisement, registration, and academic progress for student-athletes. Classification Title : Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70) •
Pay Band : 5 •
Hours Per Week : 37.5 •
Normal Work Schedule : M-TH 8am-5pm, F 8am-12:30pm; nights and weekends required Responsibilities
Coordinate the advisement and registration process for all assigned student-athletes, including schedule changes, practice conflicts, and transfer evaluations; collaborate with campus partners and advisors as needed. Coordinate practice times with head coaches and oversee the travel letter process; communicate with faculty regarding missed class time. Monitor and track the academic progress of all assigned student-athletes to ensure NCAA eligibility benchmarks are met; provide daily, weekly, and semester reports to coaches and supervisor; meet regularly with student-athletes to monitor progress. Coordinate appointments for tutoring, academic coaching, career services, etc.; monitor and/or coordinate study hall schedules; provide one-on-one assistance in time management, organization, and study skills. Travel with assigned teams as needed and manage the department’s role in the NCAA certification process for assigned teams. Assist with onboarding new student-athletes (recruiting, orientation, summer bridge programming) and collaborate with admissions, compliance, registrar, and campus partners; manage transfer credit evaluations. Assist with aspects of the part-time employee program; support training and professional growth opportunities through collaboration and inclusiveness. Assist with event planning and award nominations to promote cross-campus relationships and recognize student-athlete success. Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree and experience in student services programs. Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Education, psychology, social work or other relevant area. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Competency with culturally diverse populations; excellent verbal and written communication; good judgment; problem-solving and leadership abilities; strong interpersonal skills; creativity; knowledge of effective learning strategies and student skill development; familiarity with FERPA; ability to process confidential information; ability to build trust with student-athletes, coaches, and university personnel; student-centered approach; commitment to NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and university regulations.
