ADVANCED PRACTICE SPECIALIST ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER I
Introduction: THIS RECRUITMENT IS LIMITED TO CURRENT STATE OF MARYLAND BOARD OF NURSING EMPLOYEES ONLY.
Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this full-time position will be to provide administrative and clerical functions associated with the certification process of Advance Practice Registered Nurses (APRN) population and the four specialty certifications by assuring the candidates and applicants meet applicable standards of the MBON and certifying entities, and are compliant with the NPA and regulations. This position will also provide administrative and clerical functions associated with the certification process of the two registered nurse expanded roles (Workers’ Compensation Medical Case Manager and Forensic Nurse Examiners).
Work Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (includes a lunch break of 60 minutes).
Minimum Qualifications Education : Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience : One year of administrative staff or professional work.
Candidates may substitute 30 college credit hours from an accredited college or university for the required experience.
Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work that included regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting complex administrative plans, policies, rules or regulations or analysis of operational programs or procedures with recommendations for improvement on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
Desired or Preferred Qualifications The desired candidate should possess:
Excellent customer service experience
Experience working with the public
Exceptional email and phone etiquette
Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Suites
Licenses, Registrations and Certifications Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.

The evaluation may be a rating of your application based on your education, training and experience as they relate to the requirements of the position.
