Position Information Working Title: Alumni Engagement & Special Events Specialist

Work Schedule: The position will work up to 15 hours a week between 8am – 5pm on campus. Some weekends and evenings included. May also include summer hours if available.
Job Description The Alumni Engagement & Special Events Specialist will assist the team with the planning and execution of Alumni and Special Events programs and events. This includes organizing event and program materials, effectively collaborating with the team, and assisting with communication efforts. This position will also coordinate membership card mailings, provide data entry and other duties as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities
Data entry to track alumni engagement, event attendance, and volunteer attributes.
Provide day-to-day support as it relates to alumni engagement and special events.
Assist with coordination of alumni engagement events including Alumni Awards and Homecoming Weekend, Victor’s Salute to Graduates, Alumni Legacy Day, and others.
Assist with Special Events including Commencement, ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, etc.
Assist with communication efforts by proactively identifying alumni achievements and stories for social media, e-newsletter, and e-magazine highlights.
Qualifications Qualifications required:
Experience with Microsoft Office
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task
Ability to work independently and with a team
Must be able to commit to a full academic year (spring and fall at minimum)
Able to work on campus
Good academic standing of 2.5 GPA or higher
Good disciplinary record
Strong desire to develop relations between NKU Alumni, students, and the university
Experience with Blackbaud NetCommunity, Raiser’s Edge and Adobe Experience Manager
Knowledge of AP style
Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to go through a pre-employment criminal background check as mandated by state law.
