Position Overview
The Core Tax Services (CTS) Senior Manager – ASC740 leads complex corporate and ASC 740 tax matters for BDO clients, advising on tax implications, compliance, and strategy. Responsibilities
Tax compliance – review engagement tax records, manage audit and client service processes, ensure compliance with BDO policy and taxpayer regulations. Research – identify and research complex ASC 740 issues, develop analysis methodology, train staff and client teams. ASC 740 tax accruals – lead reviews of ASC 740 provisions, provide ASC 740 analysis to client and audit teams, manage tax accrual workpapers. Tax consulting – develop and implement tax strategies to reduce client tax burden and enhance financial results, serve as technical resource. Tax specialization – maintain in‑depth technical knowledge in one or more major tax areas, provide internal training and mentorship. Strategy development – propose innovative solutions and lead marketing or client presentations as required. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Taxation (required). Master’s degree in Accounting or Taxation (preferred). Eight or more years of senior tax experience, including ASC 740 preparatory and audit experience (required). Experience managing ASC 740 computations for private and public clients, supervisory experience (required). CPA, Attorney (U.S. jurisdiction), or Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (required). Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat and tax research/database software (preferred). Compensation
USA salary ranges by state (estimates): California $146,000–$200,000; Colorado $120,000–$180,000; Illinois $140,000–$190,000; Maryland $150,000–$180,000; Massachusetts $150,000–$206,000; Minnesota $130,000–$190,000; New Jersey $155,000–$200,000; NYC/Long Island/Westchester $190,000–$225,000; Washington $150,000–$190,000; Washington DC $162,000–$190,000.
