Description The Director, Legal Administration will lead and oversee the legal operations function within a large national health care system. As part of the legal team, will work closely with Executive Leadership and be responsible for managing complex legal administrative processes, supporting regulatory compliance efforts, and coordinating cross-functional legal projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in health care, strong organizational and technical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day legal administrative operations, including document management, contract tracking, and litigation support.
Lead and coordinate legal projects across departments, ensuring timely execution and compliance with internal and external deadlines.
Support regulatory filings, audits, and responses to government inquiries.
Collaborate with legal counsel and compliance teams to ensure alignment with federal and state health care regulations.
Manage legal technology platforms and reporting tools, including Excel-based trackers and Word templates.
Supervise legal support staff and provide training and mentorship.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security across all legal documentation and communications.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Minimum of 10 years of experience in legal administration within the managed health care industry.
Strong understanding of health care laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid Provider and Supplier enrollment processes.
Experience with legal management systems.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Experience working with government agencies such as CMS or the California Department of Managed Health Care.
Familiarity with contract lifecycle management and eDiscovery tools.
Senior Leadership experience in a legal operations and/or compliance setting.
