LHH is partnering with a boutique Los Angeles-based law firm seeking a Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team on a remote, contract basis. This position offers flexible hours (part-time or full-time) and an open-ended duration. Ideal candidates will have experience representing insurance carriers or employers in Workers' Compensation matters on the defense side. Responsibilities
Case Handling:
Independently manage a caseload of workers' compensation defense files from inception through resolution. Litigation Strategy:
Develop and execute legal strategies for hearings, trials, depositions, and negotiations. Legal Drafting & Research:
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence. Conduct in-depth legal research on case law and statutes relevant to workers' compensation and insurance coverage. Client Service:
Communicate effectively with carrier clients, providing clear legal guidance and updates. Ensure high-quality legal representation in accordance with client standards. Qualifications
Education:
Juris Doctor (JD) and active membership in the California State Bar. Experience:
Workers' compensation defense experience required; all levels of experience will be considered. Prior experience working with insurance carriers or in insurance coverage will be considered. Skills:
Strong legal writing and litigation skills. Ability to manage cases independently. Effective communicator with clients and colleagues. Benefits
