Overview LISI AEROSPACE is a global provider in the design and manufacture of high-tech metal components for aircraft safety and performance. The Production Machine Lead acts as a liaison between the supervisor and machinists, assigns jobs and machines to operators, monitors technique, quality and production, troubleshoots and assists operators with machining problems.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Acts as a liaison between supervisor, maintenance, production control and machinists with daily responsibilities.

Assigns jobs and machines to operators, monitors technique, quality and quantity of production, troubleshoots and assists operators with machining problems.

Operates and maintains 2 or more machines according to blueprints, specifications, work orders and instructions as needed.

Assists supervisor in monitoring tooling, material, quality and production.

Troubleshoots machining problems and determines action to be taken.

Coaches operators in machine set ups and interpretation of instructions/blueprints/specifications; monitors tooling, materials, quality concerns and production.

Selects and obtains proper materials and tooling for the job; checks tooling and reworks as needed to manufacture part to print specification.

Ensures machinists verify dimensions of parts with measuring instruments; inspects completed parts for compliance with blueprints/specifications.

Recognizes improper machine functioning and makes necessary adjustments; performs minor repairs and communicates corrections to management or maintenance for improved quality and tooling life.

Reads and interprets blueprints and job orders; demonstrates technical knowledge of product specifications and measuring tools.

Represents Factory/Department on cross-functional teams and safety initiatives; provides daily direction and assessment for development of peers.

Supports supervisor in developing lesser skilled operators to improve production efficiencies.

Reports safety violations or misuses of equipment; may contribute to actions including discipline when appropriate.

Monitors job completion and machine operation; ensures proper loading and safe operation of equipment.

Performs Statistical Process Control (SPC) checks per specification; uses CAM software (MasterCam) and Shop Floor Systems.

Ensures proper placement or replacement of safety guards and PPE; adheres to safety procedures.

Exhibits experience-driven judgment to plan and accomplish goals; complies with Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures.

Adheres to applicable Federal, Local, State regulations, ISO 14001 standards and HSE policy commitments; participates in continuous improvement initiatives related to waste reduction and environmental impact.

Identifies and reports nonconformances; contributes to ongoing safety and quality improvements.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED

Minimum 2-3 year certificate from college or technical school, preferred

Experience in fastener manufacturing environment with journey-level and lead responsibilities is preferred

Advanced knowledge of automatic machinery and quality systems, including SPC

7+ years of combined technical education and relevant experience

Other Skills

Ability to read and comprehend technical procedures; ability to write basic reports and instructions

Strong mathematical and analytical abilities; proficiency with measuring instruments

Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Shop Floor systems; familiarity with SPC

Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend correspondence and technical procedures; ability to write basic reports and instructions.

Physical Demands, Work Environment, Health and Safety

The role requires standing, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds; specific vision and hearing requirements apply; reasonable accommodations may be made.

The work environment is typically moderate to loud; compliance with safety, environmental and hazardous materials regulations is required; PPE is provided as needed.

Employees must wear appropriate PPE in specified areas and participate in HSE activities and training.
