Stanford University is seeking a Senior Biostatistician to independently design studies, analyze data, and disseminate findings. Independently work with investigators on proposal or grant development. Take the statistical lead on studies. Oversee biostatisticians in the lower levels on data cleaning and creation of analytic files. Lead statistical projects related to collaborations on topics including statistical software, and evaluation of methods. Independently design studies, lead statistical analyses, and disseminate findings across high-impact clinical and translational research projects. Serve as the statistical lead on studies, collaborating with investigators to refine research questions, define hypotheses, develop protocols, and author statistical analysis plans. Oversee junior biostatisticians and students in data management, quality control, and analytic file creation, ensuring rigor and reproducibility. Contribute to grant and proposal development, mentor clinical investigators and collaborators in research methodology, and present results through manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations. Oversee lower-level staff on quality control and creation of analytic files. Identify appropriate statistical tools for analysis and implement data analysis through statistical programming. Consult with investigators on statistical approaches to data analyses and assist in study design. Develop oral and written dissemination of findings for conference presentations and peer‑reviewed journal articles. Qualifications

Strong background in machine learning, biostatistics and bioinformatics. Experience with analysis of sequencing data and manipulation/analysis of complex high-dimensional data. Ability to implement machine learning models in scalable formats for broad applicability. Strong communication and presentation skills. Experience performing biostatistical analyses, including categorical, longitudinal and survival data; proficiency in SAS, STATA, and/or R. Technical/scientific writing for medical publications describing results and statistical methods. Education & Experience (Required): Master’s degree in biostatistics, statistics or related field with at least 5 years of experience, or Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics or related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (Required): proficiency in at least two of R, SAS, SPSS, or STATA; strong descriptive analyses, data modeling, and graphical capabilities; ability to communicate technical information to diverse audiences; demonstrated excellence in at least one area such as coordinating studies, advanced statistical methods, informatics, or database design (e.g., REDCap).
