Human Resources Coordinator Base pay range: $22.00/hr – $25.00/hr

Summary: The Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern New Hampshire is a dynamic organization that supports 200 staff and offers early learning, out‑of‑school time programs, summer day camps, and basketball leagues. This role provides regular clerical and administrative support within the Human Resources department, including employee onboarding, paperwork processing, data entry, file maintenance, copying/scanning, and answering telephones.

Duties

Assist in overall administration of the HR department.

Maintain and update personnel records.

Responsible for new employee onboarding and paperwork; coordinate communication and schedule new employee meetings.

May be asked to contact references and complete reference checks.

Oversee accurate completion of compensation and benefit documentation; monitor employee eligibility for benefit plans; review benefits with employees and process enrollment, cancellations, or changes through the Employee Navigator.

Manage and respond to unemployment claims and employment verifications.

Serve as point person for all new employee inquiries; assist employees with human resources‑related questions; if unable to respond, direct questions to the HR Director.

Maintain different HR and organizational systems; update and maintain accurate data.

Ensure background checks are processed according to set policy and other licensing and national organization requirements are met; track and inform employees when they need updated documents and background checks.

Ensure compliance with USCIS Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; periodically audit Forms I-9.

Conduct or assist with new hire orientation.

Answer telephone, make copies, scan, file, and maintain accurate human resources files; maintain accurate paper and electronic records of employee files.

Perform file audits to ensure all required employee documentation is collected, accurate, and maintained.

Communicate regularly and with sufficient notice with the finance department about new hires and payroll changes/updates, and the Operations Director related to email setup and other IT needs.

Keep all information confidential.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Associate Degree.

Two years of experience in human resources.

Previous experience with payroll is a plus.

Must be organized and have meticulous attention to detail.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible.

Must be able to prioritize and plan work activities efficiently.

Must be able to communicate clearly, both written and verbal with employees, members of the management team, and in group presentations and meetings.

Travel between locations when requested (only occasional travel may be required).

Must have an understanding of labor laws and seek continuous professional development opportunities to keep up with the latest HR trends and best practices.

Must be able to work independently.

Must be dependable, able to accurately follow instructions, respond to management direction, and reflect and improve performance through feedback.

Additional Requirements

All candidates offered a job will have to submit for an FBI fingerprint background check and submit to a background check through the State of NH Criminal Records Dept. and FirstAdvantage.
