Hours 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. or 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.; with occasional overtime
About the Role We are seeking a detail‑oriented
Benefits Specialist
for a fully onsite contract role to support day‑to‑day benefits administration and HR operations. This role is ideal for candidates with administrative or benefits experience, who are organized, reliable, and enjoy working in a collaborative and supportive HR team.
The position involves monitoring employee inquiries, maintaining benefit records, supporting vendor processes, and assisting with routine benefit transactions. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring employees receive timely and accurate information while helping maintain compliance and smooth HR operations.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the benefits email inbox daily; respond to employee inquiries using approved resources and accelerate complex questions to HR team members as needed.
Respond to basic associate questions about benefit plans or eligibility using standardized information or escalating when necessary.
Process benefits‑related payments following predefined reconciliation procedures.
Support vendor processes for healthcare, 401(k), FSA, and employee discount programs by gathering and submitting required documentation.
Enter and verify data in HRIS and payroll systems to maintain accurate benefit records.
Assist with benefit transactions for new hires, terminations, and current employees.
Distribute pre‑approved communication materials and forms related to employee benefits.
Answer phone and email inquiries using provided scripts or policy references.
Maintain internal HRIS records and websites with up‑to‑date benefit plan information.
Escalate complex employee issues with benefit providers to the appropriate HR team member.
Assist with internal benefits audits by gathering and organizing documentation.
Provide scheduled data to vendors to support plan testing and reporting requirements.
Coordinate logistics for wellness events and benefit‑related activities.
Maintain confidentiality of employee information and follow company guidelines.
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in an administrative or coordinator role in human resources or benefits administration.
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general productivity tools.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience using HRIS or benefits enrollment platforms such as SuccessFactors, UKG, Empyrean, etc.
Basic knowledge of relevant employment and benefits regulations (e.g., HIPAA, COBRA, ERISA, ACA).
