Managing Consultant, Air Quality (Senior Level) Join ERM as a Managing Consultant in Air Quality to provide technical expertise, project and team management, and business development for our Air Quality Service Area in Walnut Creek or Sacramento, California.

Responsibilities

Manage strategic air permits and compliance assurance programs for industrial clients, achieving client expectations for scope, budget, schedule, and quality.

Serve as a technical resource on air quality compliance assurance and permitting programs, including regulatory analyses and major/ minor source air permit applications under NSR, PSD, Title V, state regulations, and NESHAP MACT.

Interact with local regulators to steward permit application review and issuance.

Build and maintain client relationships that generate repeat business and grow the Air Quality service area in Northern California.

Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.

Capitalize on existing client relationships to expand ERM’s profile and market share in the regional air quality, climate change, and oil & gas, chemical, and power markets.

Effectively manage project teams across multiple ERM offices, delegating assignments and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

BS or MS in chemical, environmental, mechanical engineering, or related discipline.

5+ years of air quality compliance and permitting experience, including managing and implementing Clean Air Act programs such as Title V, New Source Review, and MACT.

Proof of managing multiple air quality projects and building client relationships that result in repeat business.

Experience in the refinery, chemical, and technology sector is desired.

Experience with AERMOD, GIS and/or health risk assessments for permitting, ambient monitoring, or emissions sampling techniques, CEQA, or other regulatory compliance programs is a plus.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports.

Compensation & Benefits Annual base pay range: $99,148 – $125,844 USD, plus discretionary performance bonus.
