Special Police Officer (SPO) (Security Officer) – Washington, DC Responsibilities
Perform entrance control: Enforce the building entry and identification system, including operating security screening equipment to detect weapons, contraband, and prohibited items. Inspect handbags, briefcases, computers, packages, baby carriages, wheelchairs, and other belongings as required. Conduct roving patrols: Patrol facilities and grounds in accordance with post orders to deter and detect unauthorized or suspicious activity. Perform stationary post duties: Maintain a visible security presence while monitoring CCTV systems, duress alarms, and other security technology. Provide escort services: When directed, escort executives, staff, or designated individuals to ensure their safety. Enforce law and order: Detain individuals attempting to gain unauthorized access or commit acts that threaten the safety of building personnel, property, or the public. Prepare reports and records: Accurately document incidents, labor hours, accidents, fire or bomb threats, and any unusual or unlawful acts occurring on site. Preserve order: Maintain a professional presence, enforce site rules and regulations, and protect facilities as circumstances require. Professional Expectations

Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing. Demonstrate sound judgment and composure during high-stress or emergency situations.
