About The Role
We're building the next generation of cloud security at CrowdStrike, and we need passionate engineers to help us revolutionize threat detection. As a Software Engineer on the cloud detection engine team, you'll architect and implement a cutting-edge detection system that processes billions of events across multi-cloud environments. You'll work on implementing our innovative technologies like custom query languages, event orchestration systems, and advanced correlation engines to detect sophisticated cloud-based threats. Collaborate with world-class security researchers to transform their expertise into scalable detection capabilities that protect organizations worldwide. Our team operates at the intersection of distributed systems, data engineering, and security analytics, building a composable and modular architecture that enables continuous innovation. What You'll Do
Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products Leverage and build cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence production at a global scale Brainstorm, define and build collaboratively with members across multiple teams Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage technologies and our system Continuously re-evaluate our product to improve architecture, knowledge models, user experience, performance and stability Own your work in a high-trust environment The technology stack includes: Go (Golang); AWS/GCP/Azure/Kubernetes; Kafka; GIT; Cassandra; Docker; Redis
What You'll Need
Degree in Computer Science (or professional experience in data structures/algorithms/distributed systems) Understanding of scalability and distributed systems (sharding, partitioning, concurrency, etc.) Team player with engineering best practices from testing paradigms to peer code reviews and resilient architecture Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, test-driven, collaborative environment Ability to meet commitments on time and produce high-quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in for continuous integration

Contributions to open-source communities (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging) Exposure to Go, Scala, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, etc. Prior experience in cybersecurity or intelligence Experience in thinking about, designing, or implementing programming languages or compilers Interesting hobbies
