Marketing Director, US Primary Hip Market at Smith+Nephew. Life. Unlimited. We design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. This is a strategic leadership role to shape the future of our hip reconstructive portfolio, working closely with commercial teams, global marketing, and US leadership. This role is based in the field and requires near a major airport in the Eastern or Central Time zones, ideally Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA, with travel >50% of the time.
What will you be doing?
Lead and execute downstream marketing strategies for the US Primary Hip portfolio
Develop go-to-market plans including promotions, medical education, digital marketing, and inventory management
Manage and mentor a team of two marketing professionals
Build deep market understanding and monitor competitive landscape
Define KPIs and support annual business planning
Partner with sales and pricing teams to drive targeting, physician engagement, and pricing strategies
Collaborate with demand, supply, and operations teams on product forecasting
Create compelling marketing materials and campaigns
Provide technical product support to commercial teams
Represent Smith+Nephew at industry events, customer meetings, and strategic gatherings
What will you need to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a technical field with proven marketing experience
Experience managing mature and newly launched medical device products
Strong marketing and campaign development skills
Proven leadership and team development capabilities
Deep knowledge of the orthopaedics industry
Analytical mindset with data-driven decision-making skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
Comfortable working across multiple projects in a dynamic environment
Willingness to be hands-on and support beyond core responsibilities
Willing to travel more than 50% of the time
This role is field-based and located near a major airport in Eastern or Central Time, ideally Memphis, TN or Pittsburgh, PA.
Compensation and benefits The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $150,000-210,000 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate’s qualifications. You may also be entitled to receive bonus and benefits, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
