Food Access Coordinator
at
Nonprofit Leadership Center
– responsible for coordination of client and community facing food access programs across SPFC sites. The coordinator will oversee and assist with all daily activities including but not limited to mobile pantries, setting up and stocking the pantry, training and directing volunteers during packing and product sorting events, and assisting clients through the pantry. Ensures staff, volunteers, and client needs are met, and policies and procedures are followed. Ensures positive interactions between program staff and volunteers, donors, clients, and partners. Responsible for recording all program activities. Reports to the Director of Food Access.
Schedule
Weekday schedule varies, depending upon program 8:00am – 6:30pm Four Days per week Future program needs may include Friday 8:00am – 6:30pm and occasionally Saturday 8:00am – 1:00pm
Position Responsibilities Coordinate the daily operations of client and community facing food access
Provide support to Program Director in coordination, establishment and expansion of food access
Follow all program guidelines for USDA food; ensure site compliance and record keeping
Ensure compliance with DOH regulations: maintain all required records, policies, and procedures
Ensure all food and non-food items are handled, stored and distributed in a safe and sanitary manner; follow and maintain all health and sanitation codes
Coordinate the scheduling of volunteers by using the provided volunteer database and implement daily training of volunteers in preparation for program activities
Lead program operations with the support of volunteer groups ranging from small to large
Facilitate drive-thru and indoor events: plan, publicize, set up, oversee distribution, and handle break down and clean up
Provide traffic control when needed
Utilize client database system to track and maintain all services provided to clients
Ensure complete and accurate reporting and documentation of all activities
Maintain a safe, clean environment for staff, volunteers, donors, clients, and partners
Work with People and Culture to recruit new volunteers, provide volunteer training, and assist with scheduling and oversight; submit volunteer data using Better Impact
Administer volunteer surveys and act on feedback
Coordinate with Food Bank to deliver food in appropriate quantities for program events; transport food and supplies to/from mobile locations
Perform partner site activities as needed
Attend and participate in agency meetings
Provide oversight for all pop-up pantry off-site operations
Assist with warehouse, Food Bank, or other program functionality as needed
Perform other duties as assigned by Program leadership
Agency-wide Responsibilities Maintains documentation and records in compliance with policies and procedures
Maintains confidentiality
Supports the Petersburg Free Clinic’s commitment to diversity and inclusion
Adheres to agency policies and procedures and all Federal and State regulations and local ordinances
Required Skills & Abilities Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Capability to prioritize inter- and cross-departmental collaboration
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software
Capability to use a broad range of technology
Commitment to and modeling of Petersburg Free Clinic mission and values
Database experience or knowledge
Prospect research experience
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Education & Experience Must possess a bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Have a valid, clean Florida driver’s license; ability to drive cargo van and/or 16ft truck strongly preferred
Prior experience in social service field or working with clients in need is strongly preferred
Knowledge of methods, techniques, and equipment used in warehouse operation; ability to operate pallet jack and forklift
Possess or obtain food handler certification
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift at least 30 pounds or more and have the ability and stamina to repeatedly lift 10-30 pounds daily. Ability to stand for 6-8 hours. SPFC is a Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace.
