Assistant Director Academic Support Services (Office of Education Abroad) at Florida International University. The role provides leadership and operational oversight for international education initiatives, with responsibility for inbound and outbound student exchange programs, compliance, risk management, partnership development, and student advising. The Assistant Director supervises staff, streamlines office operations, and serves as a key contact for crisis response, international partnerships, and student support. Responsibilities

Manages the application/approval processes for international student exchange programs and monitors for compliance with requirements and policies. Maintains accurate and up-to-date student forms and records. Works on the implementation of the office\'s outreach and promotional efforts, including a year-round calendar of events and activities. Provides leadership and support for FIU\'s Office of Education Abroad (OEA) programs, including safety and security, pre-departure orientation, financial aid, student finances, course registration, student conduct, and faculty-related matters such as medical and safety preparations, account and program budget support. Participates in developing, designing, and implementing improved processes to enhance office operations, including student advising, orientation sessions, and program promotion. Supervises assigned staff. Collaborates with the Director to identify and implement new study abroad partnerships. Responsible for marketing, recruitment, and academic advising of potential international student exchange participants; counsel on finances, health and safety, visas, cultural adjustment, and travel complexities. Provides logistic and scheduling support for Study Abroad Fairs and Presentations. Oversees the administration and analysis of program-wide evaluations, including collecting and analyzing quantitative and qualitative reports. Promotes study abroad opportunities through advising, workshops, presentations, and campus-wide events; provides comprehensive advising to outbound students and inbound exchange/J-1 students on options, eligibility, travel documents, and course registration. Serves as one of 24/7 emergency contacts for students and faculty abroad and provides initial crisis response. Advises on the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship; may participate in occasional domestic or international travel for program or professional development. Liaises with campus partners to streamline support for students (Financial Aid, International Services, Admissions, Registrar, Housing). Oversees STEP registration processes for FIU students traveling abroad for educational purposes. Collaborates with the Director and team on new projects, such as student surveys, committees, in-house trainings, and other assigned projects. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor\'s degree and four (4) years of appropriate experience, or Master\'s degree and two (2) years of experience. Desired Qualifications
