Calculates and processes pay changes; handles enrollment and termination of union dues, main 401K and 403B, and wire calculations for Empowerment, VALIC, VOYA, and TIAA. Ensures integrity of payroll data in the HR Banner module; assists with distribution and accountability of check pick ups. Enters W-4 forms, Direct Deposit Authorizations, Parking Deduct forms, Recreation Center forms, and cancellation forms for Parking and Recreation Center. Performs activities related to calculating and entering Federal withholding, FICA, and garnishments. Processes payroll and supplemental data (e.g., Extra Compensation, Research Incentive, Degree Incentive, Athletic Memo Request, Athletic Auto Allowance). Prepares journal entries and reports related to payroll after processing; responds to employee questions regarding compensation, taxes, deductions, and net pay. Processes time, adjustments, and changes to pay records; logs supplemental data. Administers wage garnishments and child support orders; reconciles balances and resolves discrepancies before and during payroll cycles. Retrieves direct deposit forms, runs pre-notes, reviews reports for terminated/active deductions, and processes adjustment timesheets. Responds to department inquiries regarding time entry per Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division regulations and University policy. Maintains payroll records and deductions; performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least one year of payroll experience (relevant experience may substitute for required education). Authorized to work in the U.S.; no visa sponsorship is available. Knowledge of payroll procedures and policies; analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance. Working Conditions & Schedule
Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; may require work/travel beyond normal schedule. Regularly sit, use hands, speak and hear; may stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required. Application Instructions
