Personal Injury Litigation Support Counsel - Motions & Appeals

Overview

Our client, a respected and rapidly growing

personal injury law firm , is seeking an experienced

Law & Motions Attorney

to join its dynamic litigation team. This position is dedicated to handling the firm’s most complex

motion practice, writs, and appellate matters —ensuring cases are strategically postured for success at trial and protected on appeal. Key Responsibilities

Draft, research, and argue all substantive motions in personal injury cases, including: motions for summary judgment; motions to exclude or strike experts; motions to compel discovery and other procedural motions; motions in line and other trial-related motions; responses and replies to opposing motions. Support trial teams with jury charge and preservation-of-error issues; post-trial motions (JNOVs, motions for new trial, remittiturs, etc.); appellate strategy, writs, and briefing; handle interlocutory and appellate briefing and oral arguments in state and federal courts. Conduct advanced legal research and analysis on complex tort, evidentiary, and procedural issues. Partner with trial attorneys to ensure every case is trial-ready and appeal-protected. Provide strategic guidance on motion practice to enhance case posture and maximize settlement or verdict value. Mentor junior attorneys on legal writing, research, and motion practice best practices. Qualifications

J.D. from an accredited law school. Licensed to practice in Texas; federal admissions preferred. Minimum 12 years of litigation and appellate experience, ideally within personal injury, tort, or complex civil litigation. Demonstrated success in drafting and arguing dispositive motions and appellate briefs. Exceptional legal research, analytical, and persuasive writing skills. Strong command of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure, Rules of Evidence, and Texas appellate procedure. Ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters in a fast-paced, high-volume litigation environment. Position Fit

This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic thinker and exceptional legal writer who thrives on motion and appellate practice rather than daily client management. The Law & Motions Attorney will act as a critical resource and force multiplier for the firm’s trial lawyers—ensuring every case is legally sound, well-argued, and protected from pretrial through appeal. Compensation and Benefits

Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience. Performance-based bonus opportunities tied to litigation and appellate outcomes. Comprehensive benefits package, including PTO, health coverage, and retirement plan (as applicable). About the Opportunity

Our client’s firm is known for its trial excellence, client advocacy, and rigorous motion practice. This role offers the chance to influence complex cases, shape litigation strategy, and become a key contributor to one of Texas’s most respected personal injury teams.
