Assurance Senior – BDO USA
Join BDO USA as an Assurance Senior. You will coordinate planning, fieldwork, wrap‑up, and financial statement preparation. You will serve as the primary client contact and may review engagements and agreed‑upon procedures.
Job Summary The Assurance Senior will:
plan, field, test, and close audits
while executing GAAP and internal control assessments. You will apply audit principles, provide guidance to audit staff, and maintain effective communication with clients.
Responsibilities
Apply audit methodology to audit planning, fieldwork, and completion.
Document, validate, and test the design and operating effectiveness of client internal controls.
Prepare financial statements and disclosures in accordance with GAAP.
Communicate complex accounting issues and new pronouncements to clients and senior staff.
Supervise and review the work of audit associates.
Prepare required SEC, PCAOB, and GAAS communications.
Utilize BDO audit manuals, technology, and research tools to deliver quality service.
Provide written and verbal performance feedback to audit associates.
Support engagement planning, budgeting, and client communication.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field (CPA certification required).
Minimum 2 years of audit experience in public or private accounting or consulting.
Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and audit assurance applications.
Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and project‑management skills.
Ability to work independently and in a deadline‑driven environment.
Location & Compensation Oakland, CA – Salary range varies by region: $72,000–$115,000 (California); $68,000–$80,000 (Colorado); $78,000–$87,000 (Illinois); $78,000–$93,000 (Maryland); $80,000–$110,000 (New Jersey); $80,000–$115,000 (NYC/Long Island/Westchester); $72,000–$90,000 (Washington); $80,000–$100,000 (Washington DC).
