Job Summary
Assurance Senior responsible for coordinating day‑to‑day planning, fieldwork and wrap‑up activities, preparing financial statements with disclosures, applying GAAP, documenting control systems, and acting as client contact for questions. May also be involved in reviews and agreed‑upon procedures engagements.
Responsibilities
Plan and execute audit fieldwork, including control testing and financial statement preparation.
Document, validate, and assess internal control system design and operating effectiveness.
Communicate financial statement disclosures and new pronouncements to clients.
Prepare communications to clients and audit committees.
Supervise and review work of audit staff.
Coordinate day‑to‑day conduct of audit plan, ensuring compliance with BDO standards and methodologies.
Research complex accounting issues and provide recommendations.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or related field. CPA certification required. Master’s degree preferred.
Two or more years of prior audit experience in public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services.
Prior supervisory experience preferred.
Solid understanding of internal controls, GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes‑Oxley and professional standards.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to multi‑task, work independently and in a deadline‑driven environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with assurance applications and research tools preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
Eligible to sit for CPA exams upon starting employment; actively pursuing completion required.
CPA preferred.

California: $85,000 - $95,000
Cleveland, Ohio: $75,000 - $82,000
Colorado: $72,000 - $80,000
Illinois: $78,000 - $87,000
Maryland: $78,000 - $93,000
Minnesota: $70,000 - $80,000
Massachusetts: $81,500 - $90,000
New Jersey: $80,000 - $95,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $80,000 - $115,000
Washington: $72,000 - $90,000
Washington DC: $80,000 - $100,000
