Overview

The Washington Times is seeking an ambitious and highly motivated candidate to fill an advertising sales position. We are looking for our next Account Executive / Sales Assistant to join our Advertising & Sales Department. The primary responsibilities of this position will sell and service advertising programs, opportunities and marketing solutions to advertisers with a focus on Defense, IT and Technology accounts, Trade Shows, Events and assigned Special Sections from the newsroom. Key products will be TWT Daily Print Edition and all digital offerings as well as all Threat Status products. This position will back up and support the Director of Threat Status and Chief Revenue Marketing Officer. This position requires significant local travel and may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and / or evening work for trade shows. Responsibilities Sell and service advertising programs, opportunities and marketing solutions to advertisers, focusing on Defense, IT and Technology accounts, Trade Shows, Events and assigned Special Sections from the newsroom. Promote key products including the TWT Daily Print Edition, all digital offerings, and Threat Status products. Back up and support the Director of Threat Status and the Chief Revenue Marketing Officer. Travel locally as required; may require occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work for trade shows. Qualifications Bachelor of Arts in business, marketing or related field. 2+ years of demonstrated sales in advertising, multimedia sales or related field with strong knowledge of vendor and co-op programs in the DC Metropolitan area. Heavy emphasis in advertising agencies, media buying and direct contacts; proven track record of new business development.
