The Washington Times is a nationally recognized multimedia news organization serving print, digital, and event audiences across the Washington, DC metropolitan area and beyond. We are expanding our Advertising & Media Sales team and seeking a results-driven Sales Account Executive to grow revenue and develop strong client partnerships. Position Overview

As a Sales Account Executive, you will drive advertising revenue by selling integrated marketing solutions, including: Print advertising in The Washington Times Daily Edition Digital media campaigns (display, native, programmatic, newsletters, and more) Event sponsorships (trade shows, conferences, and newsroom-driven special sections) Threat Status media products and emerging platforms This role focuses on Defense, Technology, IT, and Government accounts while also supporting additional verticals and enterprise sales opportunities. You’ll collaborate closely with the Director of Threat Status and the Chief Revenue Marketing Officer, helping develop high-impact media solutions that deliver ROI for advertisers. Local travel within the DC metro area is required, with occasional overnight travel and some evening/weekend work for trade shows and client events. Key Responsibilities

Develop, manage, and grow a pipeline of advertising clients, agencies, and media buyers Sell customized multimedia advertising solutions that include print, digital, sponsorships, and events Build and maintain strong client relationships with decision-makers in Defense, IT, Technology, Government, and Trade sectors Identify and close new business opportunities while expanding existing accounts Collaborate with internal marketing, editorial, and events teams to deliver client success Track performance and revenue growth through CRM tools and reporting Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field 3–5 years of proven success in advertising sales, media sales, or B2B account management Strong knowledge of advertising agencies, media buying strategies, vendor and co-op programs Demonstrated success in new business development and meeting/exceeding sales quotas Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills Experience selling to corporate, government, and trade industry clients preferred Benefits
