Overview
Construction Management and Development, Inc. (CM&D) is seeking a hands-on Field Assistant Project Manager to support an active healthcare construction project in Honolulu. This role provides full-time support to the project management team, requiring strong coordination and communication skills both in the field and the office.
The ideal candidate has several years of field construction experience, is comfortable managing day-to-day site activities, and can bridge the gap between field operations and project administration. Prior experience with healthcare, hospital, or other highly regulated facility projects is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist with managing daily on-site project activities and field coordination.
Take, maintain, and distribute project meeting minutes.
Support preparation and tracking of budgets, schedules, and cash flow projections.
Help implement quality assurance and quality control programs.
Coordinate with owners, contractors, and consultants to keep the project on schedule and within budget.
Review submittals, RFIs, and change orders.
Conduct site walks to identify issues, verify progress, and maintain safety standards.
Support procurement, logistics, and documentation efforts.
Assist the PM in monitoring contractor performance, productivity, and compliance.
Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports.
Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications Required:
3–7 years of experience in construction field coordination, project engineering, or assistant project management.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent field experience).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic construction software (Procore, Bluebeam, or similar).
Based in or able to commute to Honolulu, HI.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Prior healthcare project experience is a plus.
A graduate degree or project management certification is a plus.
Illustrated experience in graphic design for reports, presentations, and websites.
