The Plant Controller is an integral part of the plant management team as well as a key member of the Corporate Finance team. As such, this position requires direct involvement in both plant operations and Corporate Finance activities and initiatives as required. Duties include overall responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of financial and operational management information to be used in reporting financial results as well as managing the facility. What you’ll be doing

Perform and coordinate plant accounting activities and ensure financial integrity of plant operations. Lead team in Monthly Financial Close of plant. Evaluate the financial performance of the plant – analyze spending trends and variances analysis. Explain key performance metrics. Organize & support efforts to reduce unfavorable variances and targeted cost reduction projects. Monitor plant inventory (raw material, packaging, finished goods, spare parts, etc.) movements and to identify and resolve potential financial exposure or process issues. Address waste, variances, blocked inventory, obsolescence, etc. Provide additional insight to operations on metrics such as scrap, cost of quality, labor/overhead, inventory fluctuations and obsolescence. Evaluation of standard costing. Develop and maintain labor and overhead activity rates. Prepare capital project justification / financial analysis, track spending and monitor project performance. Help facilitate and implement Plant Controls in alignment with Group Accounting Principles. Manage team of direct reports on performance, development, mentoring, and potential hiring. Performs other duties as assigned. What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university. At least 7 years of cost accounting or Finance experience in a manufacturing environment. SAP experience preferred Strong decision-making and analytical skills Self-starting, flexible and responsive; able to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks/assignments within specified deadlines Experience with financial and operations analysis in the areas of inventory control, and supply chain management, and cost accounting.
