As Senior Manager, Software Engineering, you will drive the development of scalable, secure, and maintainable systems that support software updates, security, reporting, and real-time game data exchange. You’ll foster a collaborative, growth-oriented environment, guiding your team through technical challenges and platform modernization, while ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements.Essential Job Functions:
• Manage the design, implementation, integration, testing, and debugging of platform software for game cabinets and backend services.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of hardware interfaces, network protocols, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers, promoting best practices in platform development and system integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including hardware, game development, and product management—to deliver seamless, reliable solutions.
• Oversee the prioritization of tasks and projects, allocating resources to meet business goals and timelines.
• Work with senior management to define platform strategy, pitch new platform ideas, and set development direction.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and timely product release through effective collaboration with software quality assurance engineers.
• Cultivate, maintain, and disseminate internal systems knowledge, providing feedback on platform and tools implementation.
• Create or update documentation related to new features, interfaces, and usage.
• Contribute to in-house development toolset and engineering support.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge on new programming methods, technologies, and platform trends.
• Foster a positive, inclusive team environment that encourages innovation, autonomy, and continuous improvement.Our studio is located in Raleigh, North Carolina.This role requires full-time on-site presence, with plans to move to a hybrid structure as the studio matures. We're offering a lump sum payment to assist with relocation for out of states candidates!## QualificationsTraining and/or Experience:
• 7+ years of professional experience in software/platform development and engineering leadership.
• Experience with distributed systems, backend services, and scalable architectures.
• Experience integrating software with hardware and networked systems.
• Gaming industry experience is a plus, but not required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Proficient in C# (required), with working knowledge of C++, .NET backend/web
components, and object-oriented design.
• High degree of comfort with software development tools such as IDEs/compilers, debuggers, profilers, and version control systems.
• Familiarity with Windows programming environments, Visual Studio, and cloud technologies.
• Strong project management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor software engineers in a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Enjoy working in a collaborative, innovative environment.Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience required; Master’s degree preferred.Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
