Senior Substation Engineer
for our Ontario, CA office. This role involves configuring and producing engineering drawings for the installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relay systems in high voltage substations. These systems are critical for protecting and controlling distribution and transmission lines, transformers, capacitor banks, reactors, and associated electrical equipment. Key responsibilities include engineering and designing installations of RTUs, DDFRs, PMUs, Ethernet switches, and HMI systems. The successful candidate will collaborate with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final station project designs ranging from 4.16 kV to 500 kV. Tasks also involve producing one-line diagrams, schematics, panel elevations, and wiring diagrams. Mentoring less experienced staff is expected, and occasional travel may be required. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 6+ years of experience in specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for high voltage substation protection relay systems Extensive background in power system protection and control PE license preferred but not required Experience with Southern California Edison (SCE) standards is a plus Proven leadership in managing teams and excellent communication skills Must pass client-mandated drug and background checks and meet insurance requirements Applicants must not require sponsorship for employment now or in the future Salary will be commensurate with experience and education.
