Position Summary: The Director, Business Development, Pharma Services leads development efforts that address customer needs while coordinating the involvement of all necessary teams. This role manages and grows both bookings and revenue from existing customers and new prospective clients. The Director Business Development, Pharma Service's territory includes specific top pharmaceutical companies and a geographical area of small to mid-sized pharma and biotech clients. This position works collaboratively and in conjunction with all levels of the sales organization to ensure successful attainment of established goals and objectives.

Core Responsibilities:

Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with major pharmaceutical companies and in a designated territory

Build strategic relationships with key customer stakeholders including sourcing and procurement teams, scientific leaders, study leads, and lab managers to drive test adoption

Structure detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining new and existing clients

Collaborate and coordinate with all commercial positions including Pharma Services VP, Inside Sales, and Sales Development to ensure successful attainment of company goals and objectives

Present monthly and quarterly business reviews on territory pipeline and performance

Use salesforce.com daily to enter all sales activities, opportunity staging, and pipeline development

Meet call activity goals on a weekly, monthly, and ongoing basis

Continually analyze the competitive landscape and environment within assigned accounts to identify trends and provide customer feedback to the NeoGenomics leadership team

Coordinate closely with company executives for customer management

Monitor sales performance to ensure objectives are met

Develop and implement a comprehensive business plan for the territory including budgets, travel, territory management, and goal setting

Work effectively with individuals across multiple departments throughout NeoGenomics including Scientific Affairs, Project Management, and Operations

Create project budgets and statements of work for customer projects based on customer requirements with the support of the pharma services team

Perform other duties as assigned by the VP Pharma Services

Experience, Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in biology or business-related field or equivalent work experience required

10 or more years of direct account management and sales experience working directly with pharmaceutical and biotech companies with a history of proven performance that has met and/or exceeded expectations

Demonstrate strong understanding of diagnostics relating to pharmaceutical services and the evolving competitive landscape

Possess experience in oncology-related diagnostics including NGS, IHC, and Multi-Omics

Maintain outstanding level of market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives

Exhibit excellent knowledge of molecular pathology, oncology, hematology, chemotherapeutics, and targeted agents

Display excellent negotiation and customer service skills

Apply outstanding strategic sales account planning skills

Demonstrate superior listening and problem-solving skills

Handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality

Consistently demonstrate closing abilities throughout the sales cycle

Maintain a positive attitude and understanding of the dynamics involved with organizational growth and change

Communicate and present with impeccable oral and verbal skills

Show proficiency with all Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

Utilize experience and familiarity with salesforce.com

Develop and utilize cross-functional relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work goals and objectives

Demonstrate advanced presentation skills and business acumen

Work effectively with minimal direction or interface with manager

Exhibit strong problem-solving, decision-making, and technical learning abilities

Demonstrate advanced written and oral communication skills

Apply strong administrative skills and sophistication to manage business in complex environments

Generate measurable revenue at diagnostic, pharmaceutical, or relevant biotechnology companies
