Technical Software Development Lead

to support a mission‑critical traveler processing and security program in

Ashburn, VA . This is an opportunity supporting a national initiative to streamline and secure the processing of travelers at airports and seaports. The

Technical Software Development Lead

will work

on-site twice per week , contributing to the design, development, and sustainment of scalable web applications that enhance CBP’s operational capabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead full‑cycle software development including design, coding, testing, debugging, and maintenance

Collaborate with cross‑functional Agile teams using SCRUM and SAFe methodologies

Translate customer requirements into user stories and deliver working features each sprint

Mentor junior developers and guide technical decision‑making across the team

Participate in sprint demos and retrospectives, driving continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 15+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 12+ years

Expertise in Java, React, and Angular development

Experience with CI/CD pipeline integration, databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle), frontend development (React, Angular), large‑scale web application development

Ability to obtain and maintain a CBP Background Investigation

Compensation

Salary Range: $150,000–$170,000 depending on experience
